CPI(M) Presses for Aviation Safety Overhaul After Air India Crash Killing 265

   

SRINAGAR: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has expressed deep sorrow over the crash of an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London, which claimed 265 lives, including passengers, crew members, medical students, and doctors.

In a statement issued by Polit Bureau member Muralidharan, the party extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the crash. The CPI(M) called on the Government of India to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and take concrete steps to improve aviation safety to prevent such tragedies in the future.

On the day of the incident, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also expressed shock over the crash. “Deeply shocked and pained by the flight crash in Ahmedabad. My prayers are with the passengers and their families,” the Office of the J&K LG wrote.

National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah and party Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed grief over the tragedy. “JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & CM @OmarAbdullah have expressed profound grief over the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Their thoughts and prayers are with the victims and all those affected by this unimaginable tragedy, and they prayed for strength to the bereaved during this difficult time,” the party posted on X.
