All Jammu and Kashmir Contingent Paid Workers Employees Union of Education Department on Tuesday held a protest in Press Enclave demanding regularization of their services.

The workers led by their president Nazir Ahmad Rather assembled at Pratab Park Srinagar shouting anti-governmental slogans, “The government had promised us that we all will be implemented but nothing has been done till now,” said a protesting employee.

He said they are qualified workers in the department and their services should be regularized as well.

“We demand that the state government should regularize our workers so that we all will not suffer further,.

The workers demand the government to come up with a clear regularization policy and give the benefit of the Minimum Wages Act.

The angry protestors also threatened of hunger strike from September 20, if their demands are not fulfilled by the government.
