In a major decision, J&K Bank has re-organized its zonal structure in J&K by creating 4 more business zones (with 2 each for Kashmir and Jammu division) taking the number of zones to eleven in the State.

Asserting that creation of new business zones is a “strategic decision” aimed at improving the operational efficiency, Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman & CEO J&K Bank Tuesday said that the decision is a part of thinking process going on in the Bank at the top level to innovatively address priority challenges.

“The decision is guided by our strategic outlook that stems from our vision for future, both in terms of consolidation & intensification of business and expansion of physical footprint of the organization,” Mushtaq Ahmad said.

He added, “The decision is a beneficial complement to a host of other strategic decisions that we have taken to achieve our business objectives, improve customer service, enhance competitiveness and better administrative supervision and control”.

Notably, the existing structure of zones was carved out way back in 2007 when the Bank’s size as also the business was roughly half of what it is today.

As per the decision, two more Zones have been created in Kashmir as well as Jammu division. Main Business centres of J&K, district Srinagar and district Jammu will henceforth be separate zones. Likewise Islamabad along with Kulgam as also Udhampur along with Reasi will now onwards be separate zones.
