SRINAGAR: In a significant breakthrough against cross-border terror activities, Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in coordination with Punjab Police, recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition near Bharopal village in Amritsar district.
The recovery was made during a joint search operation launched on Wednesday evening, following actionable intelligence provided by the BSF Intelligence Wing, a statement reads.
“Based on credible inputs, BSF and Punjab Police conducted a search in the Bharopal area, which led to the seizure of the following items: two hand grenades, three pistols with six magazines, and 50 live rounds,” it adds.
The seizure is seen as a blow to the network of cross-border terror syndicates operating in the region. Security forces have intensified surveillance and search operations along the border to prevent any infiltration or smuggling attempts, officials said (JKNS)
