Cross-border firing: Authorities shut 60 schools in Poonch sector

As many as 60 schools have been closed in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir following the gunfires between India and Pakistan armies along the Line of Control (LoC), reports claimed.

The district authorities of Poonch has issued the statement that due to the shelling from armies of both the India and Pakistan in Balakot sector schools situated within 0 to 5 km of Line of Control in Balakote sector will remain closed.

Earlier on Monday, at least 84 schools were shut down in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
