The weekly ‘Karvan-e-Aman’ bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad was suspended at Tourist Reception Centre Uri on Monday morning.
Following an escalation in tension along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan, the Indian authorities have stopped the bus service in tourist Reception centre at Slamabad Uri.
As per the reports, the bus was first stopped at Baramulla post for one hour and now in Slamabad Uri, the bus carries 22 passengers in which 9 are fresher’s and 13 are returners.
It’s pertinent to mention, four militants who had infiltrated into Kashmir were killed in an overnight operation, police said. The encounter took place in Dulanja village of Uri which is at a stone’s throw from the LoC.
Details revealed that the army detected the infiltration and started a quick operation with police and the paramilitary forces late last night. State Police Chief Dr S P Vaid said the slain four militants belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit. He said three militants were killed din the initial fight and their fourth accomplice were killed later in a separate battle.
