India and Pakistan armies on Tuesday afternoon trade shelling along LoC in Tanghdar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An army officer said that the Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing on the forward Indian positions in Tanghdar sector near Jaal complex at around 01:30 pm.

“Pakistani troops targetted our positions along the LoC in Tanghdar around 01:30 pm,” the army official told news agency GNS. The officer said that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly.

Reports said that the sound of shelling was even heard at Trehgam and in many areas of Kupwara district.

When reports last came in, the intermittent exchange of shelling was going on.
