SRINAGAR: A personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was critically injured after sustaining an accidental gunshot wound from his service rifle at Jahangir Chowk in Srinagar on Monday.
Officials said a 45-year-old Head Constable, posted with the 82 Battalion near the old Assembly complex at Jahangir Chowk, accidentally fired his service rifle.
He was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. Doctors said the bullet entered from the left side of his chest and exited through the upper left side of his back.
His condition is stated to be critical, officials said, adding that further details are awaited. (KNC)
