A paramilitary trooper was injured after suspected militants attacked CRPF party in Lasjan area of Srinagar outskirts on Saturday afternoon.

Official sources said that a group of suspected militants opened indiscriminate fire upon the CRPF 29 battalion at Lasjan near Pantha Chowk.

In the incident, a trooper identified as Danish Paswal is said to have received injuries and has been hospitalized, they said.

A police officer when contacted confirmed the attack and said that the CRPF men retaliated the fire. However, there was no report of any injury to the other side.

The entire area has been cordoned off and massive searches in the area along with the Srinagar-Jammu highway has been launched to nab the assailants.
