SRINAGAR: A paramilitary CRPF trooper was among four people who succumbed due to covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

A resident of UP, the trooper belonged to 178 battalion CRPF and he died at JMC Jammu, the officials told news agency GNS.

The other victims include a woman from R S Pura Jammu, a 70-year-old man from Ramhama Beerwah Budgam and an 80-year-old man from Mouchwa Baghi Mehtab Budgam.

With these deaths, the fatality count due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir reached 1928—719 in Jammu and 1209 in Kashmir Valley.

Srinagar district with 453 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (370), Baramulla (173), Budgam (117), Kupwara (94), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (84), Doda (64), Bandipora (61), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (54), Rajouri (55), Kathua (51), Ganderbal (46), Shopian (39), Samba (39), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(22), and Reasi (15).
