Chief Secretary Madhav Lal Wednesday reviewed arrangements for the upcoming Durbar Move (An age old formality of shifting of offices) to the winter capital Jammu, at a high level meeting. The civil secretariat and other moving offices will be close working in Srinagar on October 25 and will start functioning in Jammu on November 5.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Finance Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister BB Vyas, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Suresh Kumar Principal Secretary PDD Sudhanshu Pandey, Administrative Secretaries, and other senior officers from various government departments and police.

Chief Secretary received brief from officers regarding transportation facilities put in place for moving employees and transfer of records and assets.

He was informed that the renovation and face-lifting works at the Civil Secretariat Jammu and residential accommodations for the employees is on the verge of completion. The concerned authorities also gave updates about the electricity, water, ration and LPG supply facilities put in place for employees.

He was also briefed about internet connectivity Wi-Fi, bio-metric attendance systems and other issues in the Jammu Secretariat.

Madav Lal directed all concerned departments to complete the works and provide the necessary facilities hassle-free so that the employees don’t face any inconvenience whatsoever. He also directed the concerned departments to ensure that Wi-Fi and bio-metric attendance systems are made fully functional well before the opening of the winter secretariat.
