The department of Law, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Tuesday felicitated, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, who secured second rank in the 2015 IAS examination.

Athar hails from Devipora-Mattan in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and this is for the second time that he has secured a place in the list. He did his schooling from Iqbal Memorial Institute, up to Matric and passed 12th from Tyndale Biscoe Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir congratulated Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan for achieving the feat and asked the students to emulate him. He said that from the past few years, several students from Kashmir have achieved the distinction of passing the prestigious civil services examinations with flying colors. Prof Mehraj ud Din asked the students to work hard in their respective fields in order to achieve complete success.

Head of the Department, Dr Sheikh Showkat also congratulated Athar for securing the second slot. He asked the students to excel in their respective fields and leave an indelible mark.

Addressing the students and faculty members, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, shared his experience regarding preparations for the competitive examinations. “In order to achieve your goal and success, you have to work hard consistently,” he said.

Athar Aamir asked the students to dream big and excel in the chosen field. He said that his main objective would be to minimize injustices and help the people in distress.
