Curfew continues to remain imposed in Jammu on Saturday after violent protests against 49 CRPF men were killed in suicide bomb attack in Lethpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama.

Curfew was imposed on Friday in Jammu after a mob torched and damaged vehicles belonging to local Muslims and Kashmiris.

Reports quoted Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar as having said that a decision about relaxation or lifting the curfew will be taken after assessing the situation in the afternoon.

He had imposed the curfew under Section 144 of CrPC in areas under the jurisdiction of 10 police stations. The Army was called to conduct a flag march in Gujjar Nagar.

Meanwhile, internet services continue to remain suspended on the second consecutive day in Jammu.
