Authorities have imposed curfew in Old city on Thursday following the killing of a youth in Nawakadal, Srinagar last evening.

Police sources said that the step has been taken to maintain law and order.

Hundreds of police and paramilitary troopers have been deployed in the area falling under seven police stations of the city who are keeping close vigil on the situation.

Pertinently, after Srinagar Lok Sabha seat went for polls on Wednesday, late in the evening a youth, Bashir Ahmad was killed as forces fired upon on protesters.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in all parts of valley against the killing of Bashir Ahmad. The call was given by all the separatist outfits.
