As the situation in Jammu region has improved from the last two days, authorities’ on Wednesday relaxed the curfew for three hours in Jammu from 8:00 in the morning to 11:00 am.

The district authorities in Jammu had decided to lift the curfew in the whole district of Jammu for a few hours. “The restrictions under Section-144 of CrPC shall remain imposed throughout the district and all wine shops and bars shall remain closed,” an official from Jammu said.

Although, all educational institutes would continue to remain shut and examinations scheduled for the day in Jammu are postponed. The fresh dates for the exams would be announced later.

Jammu has been under curfew since February 15, due to riots and violence on Kashmiris following the Pulwama attack of February 14 that led to the death of 49 paramilitary-men and dozens were left injured.

Earlier on Tuesday, the curfew was relaxed in some parts of the city and no unruly incident was reported from the area.

Meanwhile, the slow-speed internet services in Jammu were restored on today morning. The services were suspended on February 15, following the attacks and harassment on Kashmiris in the region and other parts of the country.
