Indefinite curfew continues in parts of Srinagar while as other parts of the valley remained normal and day today business went on in every district on Thursday. Srinagar’s civil lines area, however, remained deserted despite no curfew or any other restrictions were imposed.

District Magistrate, Srinagar has ordered imposition of indefinite curfew in parts of Srinagar city falling under the jurisdiction of police stations Nowhatta, Safakadal, Khanyar, Rainawari, Nigeen, Lalbazar, Zadibal, Parimpora and M.R. Gunj on Wednesday evening.

According to Police sources, no untoward incident was reported from any of the curfewed areas of the city and the situation is fully under control.

However no relaxation in curfew was given in any of the areas under strict curfew.

Meanwhile, the civil lines area of the city witnessed deserted roads and the shopkeepers had to face an idle day because nobody was around to shop.

Residency road and Moulana Azad road, which normally witness traffic Jams and a huge rush of People, witnessed a few vehicles moving here and there.
