SRINAGAR: The numbers are surely getting down. In the last 24 hours, only 25 deaths were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir and the highlight is that the capital cities have a single-digit death toll. The new infections stand at 1428 and those who recovered and went home happy stand at 2615.

Kashmir lost 12 citizens and Jammu 13 in the last 24 hours.

The trend of infected people outnumbering the fully recovered people continues. In the last 24 hours, as many as 2615 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 28423. The recoveries included 842 cases in Jammu and 1773in Kashmir.

Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 4051 people including 2078 in Kashmir and 1973 in Jammu.

In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Srinagar cities reported four deaths each.

The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost four citizens in Anantnag, two citizens each in Budgam and one each in Pulwama and Baramulla.

Apart from four deaths reported from Jammu city, the region lost four citizens in Rajouri, three in Kathua, and one each in Doda and Samba.

In the last 24 hours, officials said 1448 new Covid-19 positives were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir. Of them, Srinagar alone accounted for 222. Jammu, the other capital of the erstwhile state reported 106 cases.

Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, Kashmir accounts for 995 cases against 453 of the Jammu division.

In Kashmir, the new cases include 140 from Baramulla, 136 from Budgam, 107 from Pulwama, 125 from Kupwara, 95 from Anantnag, 43 from Bandipora, 54 from Ganderbal, 59 from Kulgam, and 14 from Shopian.

From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 28, Rajouri 80, Doda 51, Kathua 39, Samba 11, Kishtwar 28, Poonch 59, Ramban 33, and Reasi 18.

Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 28423 active cases, which includes 18213 in Kashmir 10210 in Jammu.
