KL Report

SRINAGAR

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) have viewed the cut in the Kerosene quota to Kashmir as irrational and ill timed. The Chamber calls upon the authorities concerned to assess the post flood situation and the harshness of the winter in Kashmir before taking decision on the Kerosene quota cut. The authorities should appreciate that in absence of regular electricity and sufficient LPG supply the Kerosene as source of light and heat is the only support that helps the people living through the vagaries of winter weather.

In a statement to CNS, the Chamber expressing dismay over the callous attitude of the authorities at the centre who instead of providing sufficient relief packages for rehabilitation and survival of Kashmir flood-hit people have chosen to cause trouble by quota cut of the essential commodities like Kerosene, have appealed the Prime Minister of India to issue immediate instruction for resending the Kerosene quota cut decision in the case of Kashmir.

In the meantime the KCC&I has taken up the issue with the Hon’ble Minister for Consumer Affairs, food  & Public Distribution, Govt. of India for revocation of the decision with regard to Kerosene quota cut in the case of Kashmir.
