A 32-year-old cyclist who was critically injured after being hit by a speedy vehicle last evening in north Kashmir’s Sopore succumbed to his injuries today in a Srinagar hospital, reports said.

Mohammad Yousuf (32) son of Mir Alam of Tulibal Sopore was critically injured after a speedy four wheeler vehicle hit him at Amargrah area of Sopore yesterday evening.

He was rushed to Sub-district hospital Sopore where the doctors referred him to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, however, after being hospitalised for the night, he succumbed to his injuries today afternoon.

While confirmed the death of cyclist’s senior police officer said that a case in this regard has been registered in Police Station Amargrah, he, however, added that driver who hit the cyclist was accompanying him to the hospital. He said that he will be soon taken into police custody.
