SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Monday condoled the sad demise of  Dr Syed Khurshid Iqbal who passed away on Sunday at a hospital in Jammu.

President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik paid rich tributes to the deceased and expressed deep condolences with the bereaved family.

DAK members held a condolence meeting and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

Shocked over the sudden death, Dr Naik said, “it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and his death has resulted in a great void in the field of medicine”.

The 65-year-old Dr Khurshid Iqbal was a medical luminary who passed his MBBS from GMC Jammu and after completing his post-graduation joined as a Registrar in the Department of Surgery Government Medical College, Srinagar.

Hailing from the Banihal area of Ramban, the deceased went to many foreign countries and after gaining expertise joined health services in Kashmir where he worked as a consultant Surgeon till his retirement.

Presently, he was working as a trauma consultant with the World Health Organisation and the International Committee of Red Cross.
