SRINAGAR: Tibetian spiritual leader, Dalai Lama is all set to visit Ladakh on July 10. The Buddhist spiritual leader who is expected to stay in the district for a period of 47 days shall be imparting teachings to the Buddhists and people from other communities, media reports said.

As per reports, Dalai Lama will land in Leh on July 10 and will continue his stay till August 25. For the first few days, he is likely to take a rest to get acclimatised to the weather of the region.

His first visit will be to Chokhang Vihara monastery followed by a visit to Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School in the second week of July. From July 21st till July 23rd he shall be holding the teaching session at Choglamsar  at the request of the Ladakh Buddhist Association and the Ladakh Gonpa Association. He will be stay at Choglamsar village on the banks of the Indus river till August 25th.

Meanwhile, Security arrangements have been beefed up near the residence of Dalai Lama in the Choglamsar area of Leh district and all the concerned departments have been asked to work in close coordination to ensure that the entire trip becomes smooths and hassle-free. Lt Governor Brigadier BD Mishra (retd)  has also reviewed the preparedness of the administration for the visit.
