Danderkhah residents protest against water scarcity

The aggrieved residents including women and children hit streets and blocked Danderkhah-Batamaloo road shouting slogans against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide them with regular water supply.

“We are not receiving drinking water supply from the last few days. We have to go to other localities to fetch water. The Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has failed to restore the water supply,” they said.

The inhabitants alleged that the PHE employees have deliberately snapped the water from the locality which forced them to come to streets.

Agitating residents were demanding the immediate restoration of the problem.

As the protests intensified a police party from Batamaloo police station reached the spot and assured locals of taking up their matter with authorities concerned.

Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir Er Abdul Wahid told Kashmir Life that the grievance of the residents will be addressed soon.
