SRINAGAR: Democratic Azad Party’s State Spokesperson Sujada Bashir Thursday demanded an NIA investigation against J&K Congress President Viqar Rasool who she said had allegedly helped a known militant to get an identity card.

Addressing a press conference, Sujada said that before targeting Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Congress should ponder on its own “charge sheet”.

“He (Viqar) can deny that the signatures on documents for getting an ID card for a militant weren’t his but then everyone knows,” Sujada said, adding that the party demands an NIA-led investigation in the case.

She said that Azad was accorded positions by the Congress party only because of his own competence. “People come running when they hear Azad’s name. People are joining us in huge numbers.”

She alleged that Congress leader Sheikh Aamir is also involved in corruption.

Interestingly, Aamir had recently addressed a presser alleging Azad was planted by the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
