Umang Narula, Chief Electoral Officer, today issued notification for revision of Electoral Rolls for Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections. The qualifying date for registration has been fixed January 1, 2012; the persons who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2012 shall only be eligible for registration as electors in the Municipal Electoral Rolls.
According to notification, the date of publication of draft rolls is October 15, 2012; period for filling of claims and objections is October 15 to 25, 2012, disposal of claims and objections from October 26th to November 02, 2012. November 3rd to 9, 2012 has been fixed for preparation and printing of supplements of addition, deletions and corrections, while as November 12th, 2012 for the final publication of electoral rolls.
The Electoral Rolls for the Municipal Corporation, Srinagar were revised and prepared in the year 2010, now this process is to revise the data.
