Day 14: Complete Shutdown on Saturday, Play ‘Taranay’ After Maghrib, Hurriyat Tells People

The resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement on Friday “appreciated” the freedom-loving people of Kashmir said that with unity the resolve despite hardships pulls and pressures they are  carrying forward their movement, which is soaked with the sacred blood of the “martyrs”, with complete commitment and resolve.

The leadership said that wherever people got an opportunity to offer Friday congregational prayers across Kashmir despite strict curfew, restrictions, and curbs, the Ulema, Khateeb and Imams raised strong voice against the oppression and suppression, killings of at least 47 innocent civilians and maiming and injuries of more than 3100 people, the leaders condemned the “government’s aggression and state terrorism”, a statement issued by Hurriyat Conference (m) on behalf of the joint resistance leadership said this evening.

The resistance leaders urged the people to continue with peaceful protests in their respective areas and make their wishes and aspirations known.

Asking people to follow the already given program of the unified resistance leadership, they said people should observe complete shutdown on July 23 and raise slogans and play Taranas in the local Masjids after the Magrib (evening) prayers.

The resistance leaders said a complete shutdown would be observed on Sunday July 24 and in the evening, people would observe blackout for an hour while complete shutdown would also be observed on July 25 and a congregation would be held in Islamabad district to pay tributes to the people who have been “martyred” in the recent spate of killings and solidarity will be observed with the people of South Kashmir.

The leaders have urged the people to implement all the programs in letter and spirit and make them success.
