The pro-freedom outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Friday said that visit of Union Home Minister “will have no impact on ground situation of the State”.

DeM General Secretary Nahida Nasreen said in her statement issued late this evening that Kashmir is not a law and order problem but 70 years old unsettled issue.

“Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh will get nothing from Kashmir till he addresses the core Kashmir issue. If he thinks Kashmir is a law and order problem then he is mistaken,” she said.

She added, “the present movement in Kashmir is run by people and whole nation is united under single platform.”

“We appeal each and every citizen of Kashmir not to talk to any Indian delegation or the Home Minister of India in case he arrives here. Let India accept Kashmir is an issue then the joint leadership will take future decision accordingly,” Nasreen said adding, “how can India expect normalcy here when it is killing innocent civilians on daily basis.”

Notably, after mass uprising in Kashmir which left at least 47 civilians dead, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh will be visiting J&K on Saturday. He is expected to reach out to separatists as well.

Nahida Nasreen claimed that party activists are not in touch with DeM chairperson Syedah Aasiya Andrabi and “are worried about their safety as according to her government has blocked all her cell numbers”.
