SRINAGAR: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Shopian on Monday continued its rescue and search operation for the second consecutive day to locate five-year-old Nigar Ahmad Turrey of Tiken, Pulwama, who drowned in the Rambiara River near Dubjan in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Officials said SDRF teams are carrying out extensive searches in the river to retrieve the minor’s body after he was swept away, prompting a major rescue response.
The operation was still underway when this report was filed.
