mobile-towersA day after suspected militants lobbed two grenades at telecom tower in Nihalpora Pattan of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the mobile networks in Sheerpora area of Pattan town are shut, creating a communication crisis in the area.

The locals told Kashmir Life that due to grenade attack on the tower, the landowner Fayaz Ahmad Wani isn’t allowing tower to function. “Yesterday’s attack has unnerved him,” the local said. “He is demanding to shift the tower to some other place.”

Pertinently, panic spread in Pattan area Wednesday when suspected militants lobbed two grenades at mobile tower in the area and fled the spot. Though the grenades didn’t explode, but the incident triggered panic in the area.

Wednesday’s attack on telecom tower was a new incident of tower attacks in Kashmir. Earlier such attacks shook the restive Sopore town, creating communication mess besides alarming the security set up of the state.
