On day second, the vital Srinagar-Jammu highway Srinagar-Jammu highway still remained closed.
Officials said that landslides triggered due to the continuous rainfall caused the closure of the road.
Kashmir valley and higher reaches received incessant rains for last many days now. Snowfall too was witnessed at any places including Gulmarg and Sonamarg while plains in North Kashmir’s Baramulla too received an inch of snow yesterday morning.
“Landslides blocked road at several places including Batote and Ramsoo,” an official said. The road was closed on Saturday.
