SRINAGAR

Engineering students studying under J&K Government Technical Board on Monday boycotted their annual examinations citing “situation in Kashmir”.

Reports and students said that they were supposed to sit examinations at Government Women’s Polytechnic college Bemina in Srinagar.

The technical Board issued state sheet, online, for the said exams around days ago. The date sheets were not published in daily newspaper and students were asked get details through internet which is interestingly has been banned on July 08, 2016 evening. Only Broadband based is working which too has been, however, snapped twice in last hundred days.

The students held protests outside the examination centre in Women Polytechnic College Bemina. The exams were scheduled to start around 9 AM.

“How can we sit in examinations when students like us were killed and maimed by men in uniform,” students shouted. The authorities failed in trying to get students inside the examination halls thus cancelling the examination scheduled for today.
