Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Tuesday sharply reacted to the use of brute force by Jammu and Kashmir police against civilian population who had assembled in Rahmoo village of Pulwama district to attend a pro-freedom rally.

In a statement issued here, the DeM secretary general Nahida Nasreen said, “as soon as the people started assembling in Rahmoo village to participate in a massive pro-freedom rally, the butcherous Jammu and Kashmir police and trigger happy Indian army personnel resorted to massive teargas shelling and aerial firing to disperse the Aazadi seeking people.”

She said a number of civilians were injured in the forces action.

“The battle of ideas and Goli Nahi Boli like slogans of Mufti Sayeed and her daughter, have proved fraud and to protect her chair. Mehbooba has surrendered all her authority, her powers and her conscience with the authorities in New Delhi.

All the decisions with regarding to the pro-freedom people in Kashmir are directly taken by the Indian home ministry and the state government led by Mehbooba obeys these orders like a loyal servant,” she said.

She said that by banning peaceful “Aazadi programs”, the government has proved that they take “decisions out of frustration and their decisions are, immoral which have no justifications”.

Meanwhile, the DeM secretary general strongly condemned the raids conducted by forces in Baramulla yesterday.

“These raids are conducted to harass and brutalise people so that they do not raise a voice in favour of Aazadi. However, this is not going to stop our dream of Aazadi and that it will further our resolve against the Indian state,” she said.

Nasreen also welcomed the statement of Chinese foreign office spokesperson on the side lines of BRICS wherein she asked the world leaders to acknowledge the sacrifices offered by Pakistan in fighting the war on terror.

“This is a welcome statement and China needs to be appreciated for bravely speaking the truth without succumbing to foreign powers,” she added.

This is not for the first time that China has openly supported Pakistan. They have been hugely supportive to Pakistan and this is highly encouraging, she said, adding that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is going to change the world scenario and that it would boost Pakistan not only financially but politically as well.

Meanwhile, according to the joint resistance leadership program all women protests were held across Kashmir to “seek Aazadi”.

“Protests were held in all the major towns and villages. However, some major rallies were held in Yamrash Kulgam, Chadarban Islamabad, Zadoora Pulwama and Harwan Srinagar,” the statement said.
