In an apparent reaction to “those defying shutdown call”, a passenger vehicle was set ablaze in North Kashmir while a J&K Bank branch was attacked by unknown persons in Srinagar.
Early today, a Scorpio (JK01W:36) was seen going up in flames in Srinagar’s Dargah area.
Reports said that a passenger vehicle went up in flames in Delina area of Baramulla district this afternoon.
Unidentified persons torched the Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration number – JK05:1031 – in Delina.
Meanwhile, reports and local sources said that unknown persons entered a J&K Bank Unit at Natipora area of Srinagar this afternoon.
Local sources said that those who forced their entry in to the bank were wearing masks and damaged cash counter and other articles apparently for defying strike. “They have done ransacking in which some LCD and other have been damaged,” sources said.
These persons escaped from the place before police could reach there.
Last Monday morning, two passenger Sumos were set ablaze when they were on their way to Srinagar from Kupwara. Earlier, two auto rickshaws were set ablaze in Old Srinagar.
