Former Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah has yet again showed his duel face by representing and strengthening India’s view point (on Kashmir), said lawmaker Er Rashid in statement in reaction to former’s New York speech.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the MLA Langate Rashid accused Omar Abdullah of repeating the same “dirty” attitude and politics, “what NC leadership has been doing right” from 1931.
“All what one could gather from Omar Abdullah’s response to his New York speech is that for him in Kashmir accession with India is conditional, in New Delhi Mehbooba Mufti is responsible for all misdeeds and in New York Pakistan is responsible for not implementing UN resolution on J&K,” Rashid said.
“It is ironic that rather calling spade-a-spade Omar Abdullah strongly projected India’s Illogical, unrealistic and misleading view point. He has added salt to injuries of Kashmiris by supporting converting LoC into permanent border and claiming that Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave Kashmir. What he has been saying and defending in Kashmir, he took complete U-Turn in New York. Though it has been the old dirty card NC has played over decades, but Omar Abdullah’s true colours should act as an eye opener for those who were under illusion that he has learned some lessons from the past,” the firebrand lawmaker said.
“By talking about a solution within Indian constitution, Omar has shown disrespect towards sacrifices of Kashmir and must know that lakhs were not sent to grave yard to find solution within Indian constitution. It would not make Kashmiris a difference whether someone form Sheikh or Mufti dynasty rules as CM or PM as they have already seen fate of Sheikh Abdullah as so-called PM who shamefully preferred in 1975 to surrender all that what Omar Abdullah wants to get restored to calm down Kashmiris. Blaming Pakistan for not implementing UN resolutions is biggest lie as just in the recently concluded UN assembly session like successive Prime Ministers, Nawaz Sharif categorically appealed world community to come forward helping in implementing UN resolutions,” Rashid said.
“Does Omar Abdullah mean that Pakistan should vacate Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan without any scheduled mechanism so that India can occupy it?” he asked.
Rashid asked Omar Abdullah not to show “false” sympathy with Kashmiris and he must muster courage to stand up in Lal Chowk or elsewhere in Kashmir and tell people all that “rubbish” what he says in New York or “has been conspiring” with Narendra Modi and other Indian leaders “behind the curtains”.
“Words like problem, dialogue, stake holders etc have lost their meaning and reflect the apologetic and slavish mind set of leaders like Omar Abdullah,” Rashid added.
