Incarcerated Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Sunday expressed concern and angst over deterioration in the health of JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik in jail following which he has been shifted to SKIMS.

Mirwaiz prayed for his immediate recovery and good health.

Terming the statement of NC Working President, Omar Abdullah in New York “along expected lines” of double speak, hallmark of political parties “supporting and promoting the consolidation of Indian occupation of Kashmir”, Hurriyat Conference (m) said, “for the past 70 years, it is these groups who are to a greater extent responsible for the untold misery and suffering of the people of J&K and the non-resolution of the Kashmir dispute.”

The Hurriyat Conference statement said, “(Omar) Abdullah, who claims to be the ‘elected representative  of people’ and as a consequence enjoy the fruits of chair did not even have the basic humanity to mention the brutality unleashed on the people of Kashmir in the last four months, the killings of  100 civilians, heart wrenching critical injuries in eyes of over 500 people by pellets many among them children, arrest of thousands of youth and children, beating up of the old and infirm and other grave human rights violations taking place here , instead he applauded ‘GoI as being absolutely blameless’ for not having ‘tinkered with the territorial boundary of Jammu & Kashmir’. What consolation is that to Kashmiris when we are being systematically massacred and wiped out,” the Hurriyat Conference amalgam asked.

“Unfortunately (Omar) Abdullah once again proved that he represents Indian interests in India or outside, for he knows that the way to the CM’s chair in Jammu & Kashmir is through New Delhi. Kashmir is not an integral part of India but an internationally acknowledged dispute,” the APHC-m spokesperson added, “as far as Pakistan is concerned, it has from day one supported Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination and extended all possible support politically, diplomatically and morally and at all platforms.”

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat Conference (m) condemned the government for sabotaging the programs of the unified resistance leadership in Palhallan, Budgam, Shopian and Srinagar, “theft of cash and ornaments” from the residence of Muhammad Abbas Zargar of Ganai Mohalla, Srinagar, by the forces and use of force on people for protesting against the arrest of 15 persons of the area, causing injuries to dozens in tear gas shelling and pellet firing.”
