‘Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline’ Delegation met Governor on Oct 26, 2016.

A delegation of Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline, Bijbehara, led by its Chairperson, Javed Ahmad Tak, called on Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.

Tak urged the Governor to intervene for putting in place the Jammu and Kashmir State Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities and early framing of its Rules; and the appointment of a full time Disability Commissioner who is not below the rank of Secretary to the Government, an official spokesperson said this evening.

To rehabilitate victims of pellet injuries, he urged the Governor: to help in urgent medical rehabilitation of the pellet injury victims including financial aid to meet their huge medical expenses on regular basis, deputing a team of rehabilitation professionals to prepare the disabled youth for leading life with dignity, referring youth with fresh disabilities to renowned rehabilitation centres outside the State and special compensation and monthly/recurring assistance to them under social security scheme.

The Governor assured the delegation that all their grievances will be taken up with the Minister for Social Welfare.

DGP Home Guards meets Governor

S Gopal Reddy, DGP, Home Guards, called on Governor N N Vohra today.

Reddy briefed Governor about the on-going activities and training programs of Home Guards, the spokesperson said.

He also discussed the functioning of the Central Training Institutes in Jammu and in Kashmir and available infrastructure for the organization.

The Governor advised Reddy to ensure that all volunteers are provided high quality training which will equip them to effectively meet the challenges posed by disasters.

Governor N N Vohra expressed grief over the sad demise of Raj Begum, a legendary Kashmiri singer.

Recalling her contributions to the Kashmiri music, the Governor has paid rich tributes to the melody queen whom he had met on several occasions in the past years.

In a condolence message the Governor has conveyed his sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
