Unknown persons set ablaze in Srinagar’s Habba Kadal area on Friday evening.
A cop from Police Control Room Srinagar told Kashmir Life that a private care – Ford Figo – was set ablaze by unknown persons around 7:08 PM this evening.
“The incident took place at Chinkral Mohalla,” the cop said.
The car under registration number JK01V: 1502 belonged to Jeelani Kumar.
“The car was parked outside the home of its owner when it was set ablaze,” local sources said.
“I had gone to barber shop when my car was set on fire,” Kumar told Kashmir Life.
Kumar said that he is “senior PDP youth leader from last eight years”. “I am a property dealer and a contractor,” he informed.
Policemen from Police Post Ban Mohalla, Chinkral Mohalla comes under this area, declined to give details about the incident.
Meanwhile, ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sources said, “the person in question whose car has been set ablaze has nothing to do with the party.”
