All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Friday strongly condemned the government’s refusal to allow its Syed Ali Geelani to offer Friday prayer, continued siege of the Jamia Masjid Srinagar, shifting of ailing pro-freedom leader Mohammad Yasin Malik to central jail and arresting Mirwaiz Umar Farooq ahead of Jamia Masjid ‘Chalo’ program.

In a statement issued this evening, the Hurriyat Conference said that stopping an individual from performing his or her religious responsibilities is gross violation of human rights and interference in the personal and religious rights.

“By doing so,” Geelani led by Hurriyat Conference said, “Indian rulers and their local voices have very well explained the real essence of Indian secularism and their hollow slogans of religious freedom, individual liberties and equal rights is nothing but the age old deceitful slogans of the imperialistic mind set which they have been using to befool others.”

Strongly condemning the siege of Jamia Masjid Srinagar for last 16 consecutive Fridays, the Hurriyat Conference said, “local government has purposefully joined hands with the preachers of Hindutva to implement the Nagpur agenda.” “They have waged war against the whole community by forcefully preventing people from their prayers.”

“(The) local administration is inching towards fulfilment of the long cherished goal of RSS, which long back has claimed the land of Jammu and Kashmir, which has many Mandirs and other Hindu religious places. They have also outlined their nefarious and wicked designs of manipulating and changing the demography of the state in the garb of the developmental slogan, thereby adjusting and accommodating millions of Hindus,” the statement said.

“They have already more than 10 lakh army capturing lakhs of canals of our land and misusing our natural resources for the use in rest of India,” Hurriyat Conference added.

“They have demented and distributed our religious as well as cultural fabric beyond recognition and identification. We have no grievances or grudge against the apathy and numbness of the Indian rulers, but it is most pitiable and regretting that our own people are consumed happily and wilfully in fulfilment of their agenda,” the statement further said.

“Self-centred navigators of unfortunate and wrecked ship of our nation have slaked their lust of power by sucking the blood of their own people. They have built the emperors of their might and power on the numbness bodies of our dead ones and bargained even their faith and belief for obeying their dictates,” the Hurriyat Conference said.

The Hurriyat Conference said, “after saffronizing themselves; these so-called faith preachers have locked down our Masjids and Dargahs. Like Firaoon (Pheron) and Namrood, they have declared themselves the ultimate force (for) every dissent and resistant voice to subjugate. Firaoon and Namrood never claimed natural and environmental authority. They never said that sun and moon are under their control, they never said that stars blink according to their wishes; they never claimed that day and night are subjected to their consent, they never claimed that water and air are regulated by their might and muscle. They only wanted that the land and boundaries under their control should bow to their power. Its inhabitants should have their faith and belief subservient to theirs. No voice should dare to pitch high when they are around. No soul should ever dare to challenge their authority and today’s rulers with Muslim names have all their deeds and actions in line with the mentality and characteristics of Firaoon and Namrood.”

“Forceful subjugation and boisterous acts of oppression have neither rescued that mind-set nor can it delay the disfigurement and defacement of present rulers,” the Hurriyat Conference (g) maintained.
