An army soldier and a suspected militant were killed in an encounter at the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Kupwara, army said on Friday late evening.
Srinagar based defence spokesperson, Rajesh Kalia told Kashmir Life, “the gunfight took place in Machil sector of Kupwara.”
“The militant has mutilated the body of the Indian Army Soldier,” he said, “the militant then fled into PaK, supported by covering fire from Pak Army posts.”
Kali added, “this barbarism is a true reflection which pervades official and non-official organisations across the border.” “Army warned of an appropriate response.”
