Strict restrictions were imposed in South Kashmir’s Shopian district parts to foil a freedom march on Wednesday.

Reports said that people had called for march to Chitragam Kalan today, however, massive deployment of forces was made since early morning today.

“All roads leading to Chitragam have been sealed and no one is being allowed to enter or leave the area,” reports said. “There was minor stone pelting but forces action pushed the protestors away.”

Meanwhile, in Islamabad’s Bijbehara area, forces launched early morning cordon.

Reports said that Rashtriya Rifles (RR) men raided Baba Mohalla and Goriwun areas. “They searched many houses as well,” locals said.

The siege was lifted around 9 AM.
