A pro-freedom rally was held in Mehind-Badhoor area if Bijbehara in Islamabad district after Friday prayers.

Reports said that people held pro-freedom rally in the area which was led by Syed Ali Geelani led Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district chief Mir Hafizullah.

Addressing the rally, Hafizullah said, “we should not let down our hope for freedom.”

Mir’s address included appeal to private car owners who asked them “not to drive their cars without a genuine reason”.

He added, “we must follow our resistance leaders which will lead us to our goal of freedom.” The rally ended peacefully.

Reports from Pulwama said that clashes erupted in Tahab area of the district while as a pro-freedom rally was held in Rahmoo area.

Reports from Bandipora said that authorities foiled a proposed pro-freedom rally in Aloosa area of the district. The rally was scheduled to take place on the call of pro-freedom leadership.

Three youth were reportedly arrested during the police action against the protestors.

Reports said that clashes erupted between protestors and forces after the rally was disallowed. The locals accused police of ransacking their property in the area.

Meanwhile, clashes erupted in main town Bandipora after people tried to assemble the main Chowk soon after mandatory congregational Friday prayers for pro-freedom demonstrations.

The clashes coupled with teargas shelling from men in uniform.

Kashmir Life received reports of minor clashes from Sopore and Trehgam townships as well. “A group of young boy were chased away through the street this morning,” a resident from Trehgam said.
