An Army soldier was on Saturday killed in ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, reports said.

Pakistani troops allegedly violated ceasefire by indulging in firing and shelling in Keran sector this morning.

He said that in the incident, Army jawan Harshid Badarya lost his life.

The firing has stopped, the official said, adding further details were awaited.

Quoting defence sources local news gatherer CNS said three more soldiers were injured in Keran’s Naga Post. Identified as Gun Operator Manoj Kumar, Naik Sandeep Kumar and S Badoria, they were evacuated to the hospital.

Besides, it said the residential houses belonging to Ghulraiz Bhat, Molvi Irfan Joo, Haji Rafiq Ahmed Khan and Nazakat Khan were damaged in the attack.

In another attack from Pakistani Rangers, CNS added three more soldiers were wounded in Furqian Gali of Kupwara sector. The injured were identified as Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Ashok Kumar and Tayyib Beigh. They also were evacuated to the hospital.

Meanwhile, an army soldier killed, another injured in road accident in Gurez.

Reports said that a vehicle carrying army soldiers met with an accident in Gurez area of Bandipora district.

A speedy army vehicle went out of drivers control and plunged into Kishan-Ganga nallah near Barani-Tulail area of Gurez. It resulted into the death of a soldier whom police identified as Lance Naik Ashwind Singh from Artillery Wing. Police said another soldier Constable Srinath was seriously wounded in the accident.

Earlier on Thursday one soldier died while other two injured when a vehicle carrying them fell into Zadkhusi Nallah.
