A 21 year old boy, Rizwan Ahmad son of Ghulam Hassan Resident of Bagwanpora Noorbagh of Srinagar City has died today morning in SKIMS.

Rizwan was hit by a CRPF vehicle at Parimpora on the outskirts of Srinagar city a week ago when he was travelling on his motorcycle.

Reports said that Rizwan went into coma after the incident and breathed his last today morning.

Rizwan’s body was taken to martyrs graveyard Eidgah where he was buried amid pro-freedom sloganeering.

A local of the area, Bashir Ahmad Wani, said that the funeral of Rizwan came under heavy teargas and pava shells firing.

“We marched towards martyrs graveyard Eid Gah amid pro-freedom sloganeering. Police deployed in strength resorted to massive shelling to disperse us,” he said and added, “However we went ahead and buried him in the martyrs graveyard.”

SP North said the body of Rizwan was buried in Eid Gah Srinagar peacefully. “There were no protests and the body was buried without any clashes.” The burial was normal, he said.

Officials in Parimpora Police station said that Rizwan was hit by a CRPF vehicle. “An FIR under number 240/2016 has been lodged in police station Parimpora and the CRPF vehicle has been seized.”
