Namaz In Open at Kaloosa

Hundreds of faithful offered Zuhr Namaz in open, as a mark of protest, on Thursday in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.

Local eye witnesses said that hundreds of people assembled in Kaloosa area of the district before making rows for mid-day prayers. “The long stretch of main road was full,” a local, who is a teacher, said, “one could not see from one end to another.”

The locals said that lanes and by-lanes were filled with people and Zuhr prayers were offered.

Given the mass civil uprising in Kashmir after popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed on July 08, 2016 evening. At least 54 civilians were killed by forces while over 5000 have been injured in mass protests in last 27 days.

Government gagged Kashmir newspapers from publishing for at least five days while mobile services were snapped. However, one-way prepaid service is on while mobile internet is completely snapped.

“After Namaz was over, people condemned the civilian killings amid pro-freedom slogans,” the local said, “people dispersed off peacefully but we are again meeting at Asr prayers which too will be offered in open.”

After civilian killings continued, the united resistance leadership issued a protest calendar and asked people to offer mid-day and evening prayers in open.
