In an effort to “understand” the issues in Kashmir, a non-Congress, non-BJP delegation of India’s parliamentarians are arriving in Kashmir on August 09, 2016.

Kashmir is observing complete shutdown on Thrusday-27thday, while government has imposed undeclared curfew in many parts after at least 54 civilians were killed by forces since July 09.

Mass protests are happening in Kashmir since popular militant commander Burhan Wani’s death along with his two associates in Kokernag area of South Kashmir.

Informed sources said that the delegation of MPs will land in Srinagar on August 09. “They will be meeting cross section of people,” sources said, however, they did not give the exact number of MPs.

Interestingly, the delegation of MPs is minus BJP and Congress-the two major parties. “This shows how non-serious they are viz-a-viz developments in Kashmir,” sources said.

The sources added that Communist Parliamentarian Sitaram Yechury will head the delegation which will try to visit injured persons in hospitals as well. “It will be a fact finding team,” sources said.
