#Day28: Clashes Erupt in Kashmir Parts

Severe clashes erupted in Kashmir parts on Friday after congregational mid-day prayers.

Reports reaching here said that South Kashmir’s Shopian district is witnessing heavy clashes this time.

11 major villages are involved in the clashes with forces which are using tear gas canisters to disperse off the protestors.

In Islamabad’s Bijbehara area, a big pro-freedom rally is being held this time around.

In popular slain militant commander Burhan Wani’s home town Tral, at least two people were injured in the clashes with forces.

From North Kashmir’s Sopore, around 20 people were injured when forces used tear gassing to disrupt a peaceful rally after Friday prayers. People had taken out a rally in Chankhan area today.

Reports reaching from Hajan town said that intense clashes erupted in which several youths were injured.

Forces lobbed scores of teargas canisters at Zadi Masjid Safa Kadal when people tried to hold a peaceful protest march against the civilian killings.

Soon after Friday prayers, forces descended in their neighbourhood and lobbed teargas and beat up Nimazees coming out of the Masjid.

Kashmir is witnessing a renewed mass civil uprising since popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed on July 08, 2016. In last 28 days, at least 54 civilians have been killed by forces and over 5500 have been injured.
