The Jammu and Kashmir on Friday imposed strict curfew across Kashmir in view of ‘Dargah Chalo’ scheduled in the calendar issued by united resistance leadership of J&K.

The resistance leadership had asked to march towards Hazratbal where congregational Friday prayers were scheduled to be held.

Reports coming from Hazratbal said that Dargah has been sealed as police have put up concertina wires at the entrances of the shrine. There is escalated deployment of forces around the shrine and roads leading to it.

The deployment of Police and CRPF has been increased on sensitive spots across the city.

Reports reaching from North Kashmir’s Kupwara said that Police and army from Trehgam has moved to Kunan-Poshpora villages apparently to prevent people from marching towards Trehgam.

On previous Fridays, the men and women of the twin villages had marched towards Trehgam in protests against the continuous curfew.

Strict curfew and restrictions remain imposed in Trehgam, Kupwara, Lalpora, Kralpora, Handwara since the start of current uprising on July 09.
