Syed Ali Geelani on Monday said that issue of Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and can’t be changed by “false” statements.
He was reacting to statements made by Indian Ministers after he termed them “unrealistic”.
Geelani, the Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson, in a statement issued this evening “advised” Indian politicians to shun their “ego and stubbornness, accept the ground realities and come forward to address this basic issue” according to the wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Geelani termed the Union Finance Minister’s statement at Jammu “far from reality and delivered from the mighty pedestal of arrogance”.
“It seems as if some uniformed person is terrorizing the common masses,” he said. “We have been striving for our basic right, Right to Self Determination, for last 70 years and it is your armed forces, who disturb peace by unabated killings, maiming thousands and besieging whole population,” he said addressing Jaitley.
Geelani accused the Indian politicians and the biased media of India to “deliberately and dishonestly” depriving their own people from the realistic and ground situation here in Kashmir.
“They prevent their population from knowing the words like territorial dispute, militarization and occupation. But they parrot them with their own chosen words as peace, ordinarily people, tourism and separatism,” he said.
Referring to the repeated Pakistan bashing, Geelani said, “it is not something new that India puts the blame of their failures on Pakistan as it has been always doing so. Indian politicians are suffering from Pakistan-phobia and they hold Pakistan responsible even for floods and plagues in their country.”
The ailing octogenarian Hurriyat Chairperson further said, “the puppet government of Jammu and Kashmir claiming to be the representative of the people, whom they deceived by talking about Sadak, Bijli and Pani and made them to vote for them, is not existing anywhere on ground accept state run TV screens, delivering sermons of peace and morality. They hide their tainted faces from public even in presence of posse of armed forces.”
The Hurriyat patriarch once again cautioned them that “how long will you please your masters by offering our blood and honour to them just to retain your ministerial berths and that you will have to repent for your deeds, but then time may not be on your side”.
