Rubbishing the claims made by CM Ms Mehbooba Mufti that “only five percent people are associated with the resistance movement in Kashmir”, chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Tuesday said that Mehbooba was spreading “blatant lies to appease her masters in New Delhi.”
“Even the insane persons can’t believe such lies that only five percent people are associated with resistance movement in Kashmir. World knows what is happening in Kashmir from the past 47 days. Going by the statistics, the reality is a complete reverse of what Mehbooba has said i.e. 95 percent are with the resistance movement and rest are with India in Kashmir,” she said in a statement issued early this evening.
“If her lies are to be believed, then she must also be able to convince the world that how powerful this five percent population is. India has deployed seven lakh of its forces on the streets of Kashmir from the past 47 days and is sending in additional 26 battalions which are unleashing brutalities in all forms and yet, these five percent can’t be controlled,” she added.
She said that deployment of so many forces only “proves” that 95 percent are with the movement while a “mere 5 percent have sided with India”.
“These five percent include stooges like Mehbooba and other pro-India politicians,” she said.
“The Indian home minister, Rajnath Singh, was coming on a second visit to Kashmir only to frame strategies about how to save these five percent Indian stooges,” she said.
Andrabi alleged, “to break the resolve of the pro-resistance people, India and its puppet government is resorting to every cheap tactic in Kashmir. Reportedly, poor auto rickshaw drivers and Tata Sumo drivers, who are under debt of various banks, have been called and the government is trying to bribe them and corrupt them, so that they go against the strike calls. Those who refuse this offer are being threatened.”
“On the other hand, presidents of all the local Auqaf committees in Kashmir and in Chenab Valley have been approached and threatened of dire consequences if they take part into the pro-resistance programme being held in their localities. In this regard, I want to say to these Auqaf presidents and these poor auto drivers that you must remember that people are laying their lives and there is no bigger sacrifice than sacrificing one’s life for a cause. So you should keep this in mind and should desist from doing such activities that will harm this pious cause,” she said.
“People and the resistance leadership are taking care of whatever we need in these harsh times. August 24 has been kept as a day on which we will visit every home in our locality and will take stock of whatever they need and accordingly it will be provided,” she added.
She said that the Auqaf presidents must know “that they aren’t pro-India Panchs and Sarpanchs but heads of religious bodies”.
“By rejecting the dictations of the puppet government and its agencies, you will prove to the world that like the majority Muslims in Kashmir, you also are a part of this pious movement,” she further said.
