In the fresh clashes which erupted in Pinglena area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Wednesday, at least eight persons have been injured.

Correspondent reports said that people tried to march towards Pirchoo but were intercepted by forces who have cordoned the whole area.

Nitably, forces including personnel of Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and CRPF raided Pirchoo village around 3 in the mid-night and banned a mass pro-freedom rally scheduled for today.

Forces imposed strict curfew to thwart mass movement of people towards the venue, however, people resisted and over a dozen people were injured.

“People in nearby Pinglena came out on roads after announcements were made on loudspeakers,” reports said, “clashes erupted and forces fired pellets and tear gas shells.”

The injured were rushed to PHC Pinglena wherefrom three injured persons were rushed to a Srinagar hospital.

Meanwhile, eight of the injured persons from Pirchoo have reached SMHS. One of the attendants who spoke to Kashmir Life said, “many people have been injured and eight of them were hit by pellets in eyes.”
