Drubgam Pulwama , scheduled rally, morning force raided, clashes, 12 injured, local sources at least 8 arrested, damages, clashes going on.
Police and paramilitary forces on Sunday morning raided the venue of a proposed “Aazadi rally” in Drubgam area of Pulwama district setting off clashes with locals.
Locals said that a rally “Aazadi convention” was proposed in the area. However early in the morning today police came from left right and centre and dismantled the venue. “Since yesterday people had started coming to the venue from different south Kashmir districts. Many of them are injured.”
Witnesses said that police resorted to indiscriminate shelling and pellet firing resulting in injuries to at least a dozen people.
“Later the forces went berserk in the village and broke window panes and smashed the household items of the villagers,” witnesses said.
Meanwhile, sources in Pulwama said that at least 8 civilians have been arrested by the Police in the area.
